Southwark Foodbank Charity Pecan

We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership between DCUKFM and the London Borough of Southwark's esteemed food bank charity Pecan. This collaboration marks the beginning of a meaningful journey aimed at making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need within our community.

For the next three years, DCUKFM has pledged a monthly financial contribution alongside offering the dedicated support of our staff volunteers. This commitment underscores our firm belief in the importance of giving back and supporting the communities in which we live and work.

Our partnership with Southwark Foodbank commenced in December 2023 with our inaugural donation of £1,000.00. This initial contribution represents just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to support the vital work carried out by the food bank.

The impact of Pecan’s efforts over the past year is truly remarkable. Between April 2022 and March 2023, they provided assistance to an astounding 11,598 individuals in Southwark, including 4,348 children and 7,250 adults. This equates to an incredible two tonnes of food distributed weekly throughout the borough, highlighting the significant role they play in alleviating food insecurity within our community.

At DCUKFM, we are honoured to stand alongside them in their mission to provide essential support to those facing hardship. By joining forces, we aim to amplify their impact and contribute to building a stronger, more resilient community for all.
